A beautiful set of Directoire chairs, comprising two cherrywood chairs, one with a straw seat; three are upholstered in satin fabric with a First Empire laurel wreath motif. There are slight differences in the tapered legs and the curule backrests at the ends, and a generous arched front band. These chairs complement each other perfectly, and their quality speaks for itself, as does their well-preserved condition. They form a distinguished and elegant table setting, foreshadowing the Empire period and the end of the Louis XVI style.
