A Rare Pair Of Etruscan-style Chairs, Directoire Period
A rare pair of Etruscan-style chairs, inspired by furniture discovered in Pompeii in the second half of the 18th century, made of molded and carved beech, re-lacquered white with gold highlights, with a slightly curved flared back, a band decorated with a large palmette and quarter rosettes, the lower part openwork with a scale motif, standing on four saber-shaped legs (with some damage).
