Art Deco Vase By Charles Schneider
Artist: Le Verre Français
This is an Art Deco cameo glass vase from Schneider's Le Verre Français line, decorated with a stylized bellflower motif in warm shades of orange, yellow, and burgundy. It is made of multi-layered colored glass: a mottled yellow-orange background overlaid with a darker reddish-brown layer, acid-etched to create the relief pattern (cameo glass). The etched areas are then polished, producing a contrast between the glossy, raised decoration and the softer, semi-matte background—a characteristic of Le Verre Français production between approximately 1918 and 1932. Charles Schneider was a renowned glassmaker of the Art Deco period in France. He was celebrated for his exquisitely beautiful and delicate creations. He was one of the founders of the Le Verre Français glassworks, famous for its colorful and intricate designs, often inspired by nature.
