Modern Six-light Leather Pendant Lamp, Circa 1950, Attributed To Jacques Adnet.
Artist: Jacques Adnet
This chandelier is a French ceiling light from the 1950s by Jacques Adnet, composed of a circular brass frame entirely covered in stitched saddle leather and fitted with six cylindrical parchment shades that diffuse a warm and even light. The clean, wheel-like shape, the use of luxurious materials, and the hand-stitched saddle leather, inspired by equestrian designs, are characteristic of Adnet's collaboration with Hermès in the 1950s and illustrate his transition from Art Deco to a more minimalist French modernism.
