Large Art Deco Chandelier By Marius-ernest Sabino
Artist: Marius-ernest Sabino
A spectacular Art Deco chandelier in opalescent molded-pressed glass by Marius-Ernest Sabino, composed of a large floral bowl with stylized petals forming a blooming corolla, suspended from an elegant nickel-plated metal frame with slender stems. An emblematic piece from the 1930s, illustrating the glassmaker's mastery in the treatment of volumes, ribbed reliefs, and the homogeneous diffusion of light. Marius-Ernest Sabino (1878–1961) was a master glassmaker and creator of Art Deco lighting fixtures, of Sicilian origin and naturalized French. Settling in Paris at a young age, he first trained in wood carving, then at the École nationale des Arts décoratifs and the École des Beaux-Arts, before turning to glass.
