"Neolithic Capsian Basalt Mace Head"
A rare and beautiful four-headed Neolithic basalt club from the Capsian culture of Northwest Africa (circa 9500-6000 BC). An incredible collector's item, a true holy grail of early human weaponry and tools. Exquisitely carved from granular basalt, it features a four-headed motif and a round slot for the handle. Robust and heavy, it was designed for everyday use, but also for the battles and wars of the Neolithic period, as maces of this type were among the most intimidating and deadly. Traces of use are visible. This exceptional specimen is presented on a contemporary acrylic and metal mount.
