An authentic handmade 19th century French provincial terracotta confit jar from southern France, formed in dense iron-rich earthenware clay with a warm cream-ochre body typical of Cévennes utilitarian pottery. The compact ovoid form, short neck and paired loop handles reflect traditional household storage vessels used for food preservation. The deep bottle-green lead glaze shows natural pooling, tonal variation and subtle firing effects that give the surface exceptional visual depth and historic character.
Dimensions: height 19 cm; diameter 16 cm; weight 1,106 g.
Condition: tiny chip to the footrim; otherwise excellent antique condition.
