Empire style Egyptian Revival mahogany and gilt bronze bookcase – 19th century. This 19th-century bookcase, crafted from solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, is in the Empire style – Egyptian Revival, richly adorned with finely chased gilt bronze mounts. It features three doors: a central glazed door revealing interior shelves, while the two side doors are solid. The decoration is characteristic of the Egyptian Revival style: antique female heads, palmettes, laurel wreaths, winged cherubs, and gilt bronze friezes. It has a handsome straight cornice and tapered legs ending in bronze sabots. An elegant and decorative piece of fine quality. Period: 19th century. Style: Empire – Egyptian Revival. Wood: Mahogany.
