A charming white glazed porcelain box, enhanced with gilt trim, depicting a seated oriental figure wearing a turban and stylized attire. The lid forms the entire figure, while the gadrooned base opens to reveal a small box for powder, jewelry, or pills.
This model is part of the decorative production of the Parisian firm Robj, active in the 1920s and 1930s and known for its whimsical and exotic creations characteristic of the Art Deco style.
The piece bears the mark "Robj Paris – Made in France" under the base, as well as an original retailer's label.
