Dimensions: 34x28 cm. Tempera on wood, levkas.
Icon with three figures representing selected saints. In the center, Saint Charalampos, Bishop of Magnesia, is depicted in archiepiscopal robes, holding the Gospel. To the left, the Great Martyr Theodore (probably Stratilates or Tyron), in armor, holds a martyr's cross. To the right, the Great Martyr Barbara, with her head covered and her hands in prayer. Above the saints, Christ Pantocrator appears in the clouds, blessing and holding the open Gospel.
This icon belongs to the so-called "synaxis of chosen saints" type and was probably commissioned for private use, in a domestic prayer corner, with a choice of patron saints corresponding to the first names of family members or to particular circumstances.
Good condition, crquelure, traces of dirt, small loss of paint to the clothing of Saint Charalampos.
