"Berlin Porcelain Plate Kpm Period Early 20th Century"
This porcelain plate was made in Germany, early 20th century, by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Berlin, known as KPM. It is a replica of the dinner service ordered in 1767 by Frederick II, King of Prussia, for the Breslau Palace. The style, refined and elegant, belongs to the Prussian Rococo. The floral painting is of striking beauty: the artist manages to evoke, in a single flower, the infinite superposition of the petals of a rose in full bloom. A frieze of pale blue scales, entwined with raised golden scrolls, frames the composition. The Rococo outline is highlighted by luxurious fine gold ornamentation.
