Robert Crommelynck, is a Belgian painter born in Liège, trained by Évariste Carpentier and Adrien de Witte at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège. Crommelynck exhibited from 1917 in Verviers, Brussels and Liège. During the 1920s, he traveled to France and from 1930, he rented a studio in Paris. In 1944, Crommelynck was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège. He is also inspired by Goya and by the German painters Lovis Corinth and Wilhelm Leibl.
