"Paris Porcelain Sugar Bowl Circa 1810–1820"
Empire porcelain sugar bowl. The sugar bowl is decorated with a deep burgundy background, gilding, and decorative motifs inspired by antiquity. One side features a dish of vegetables surrounded by garlands and masks, while the other shows winged creatures framing a classical crowned face. Handles in the shape of helmeted female heads are placed on each side.
Attributed to the Darté Frères factory, Paris. Porcelain, hand-painted decoration, gilding.
Height - 12.5 cm.
Condition: very good, small firing defect, restoration to the lid, flaking of the paint layer.
