The surface is richly decorated with geometric inlays in gilt copper and mother-of-pearl, creating a delicate ornamental effect that contrasts beautifully with the dark ebonized wood. The upper section is adorned with a pierced gilt bronze gallery, while finely chiseled gilt bronze mounts enrich the corners and legs. The drop-front opens to reveal a writing compartment veneered in bois de rose, fitted with compartments and three drawers.
