A fine George II silver Rocco tea caddie and sugar basket by John Cafe, Edward Aldridge & John Stamper, dated 1754, housed in a silver mounted shagreen case. Bombé form canistor, on four shell feet, the sides and covers embossed with chinoiserie and rococo motifs and two vacant cartouches, each cover with seated tea drinker and bird and branch finial. Sterling silver sugar basket with floral motifs and noble coat of arms in the centre.

Slight signs of age and superficial scratches. The four hallmarks are present on the base of the tea caddie and on the base of the sugar basket. Each item of the case is marked with the maker’s mark and the lion passant.
