The flat, circular base is bordered by a gadrooned frieze and a central gadrooned rosette.
The baluster-shaped stem is decorated with palmettes. The candle holder is vase-shaped, and both the holders and the drip pans are decorated with gadroons.

Condition report: Candlesticks in excellent condition, with thick, original mercury gilding. Minor wear in places on the base of one of the candlesticks. Claude Galle supplied 17 pairs of this model to the Château de Fontainebleau in 1806 and 1807.
