beautiful object: square box with a domed wooden lid, lined with green shagreen and green moiré fabric, containing a pair of steel shoe buckles, late 18th century.
The pretty cut-out hook closures are silver.
In fairly good condition; one of the shagreen sides has been patched, but that's the only patch. There is wear on corners and some rubbing.
Previous owner had the interior lining redone; it's lovely.
