Center Desk In Sycamore And Blackened Wood – 1950s Design
A rare mid-height desk crafted from sycamore veneer and ebonized wood, with a slightly trapezoidal shape, rounded corners, and resting on four very tapered, splayed legs ending in brass sabots.
Three drawers in the frieze.
A unique and very elegant design.
A superb piece from the 1950s; the workshop and designer are yet to be identified. Traces of inventory or model numbers under the desk need deciphering.
Excellent provenance.
A matching bookcase/sideboard is currently being restored; photos are available upon request while awaiting online posting.
In very good condition, fully restored by our workshop, it is sold with a thick, beveled glass top that can be used to protect the desktop.
