Important Louis XVI Commode Stamped Gervais Durand
Artist: Gervais Maximilien Durand (1839 – 1920)
Exceptional commode in mahogany and flamed mahogany veneer opening three doors and three drawers in the belt. Central projection and amounts with concave sides, a beautiful white marble top with light gray veining. Very rich ornamentation of very finely chiseled gilded bronze.
Oak frame.
Stamped three times on the top of the uprights and on the back.
Pure perfection in both style and quality of execution. The assemblies, the choice of woods and veneers, the work on the bronze are simply breathtaking.
