Louis XV-style Ladies' Desk In Rosewood Marquetry And Gilded Bronze

A very elegant ladies’ desk in the so-called “kidney” (or “bean”) shape, in the Louis XV/Transitional style, crafted from rosewood marquetry set within rosewood frames.
Features three drawers.
Richly decorated with very finely chased gilded bronze.
Brown leather top adorned with a 24-karat gold-plated iron frieze and a central motif.
This model was produced by Paul Sormani; this particular piece is a late 19th-century piece from a workshop in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine associated with Paul Sormani.
In very good condition, fully restored by our workshop with a buffed varnish finish. The sheepskin leather top was replaced by our leather craftsman.
