Trooper's Cavalry Sword Knot, Napoleon 1st Empire / Restauration

A rare French cavalry sword knot for trooper dating from the first half of the 19th century. Officially described in regulations in 1821 for mounted troops, this type of sword knot was used from the First Empire onward and remained in service until the middle of the 19th century.
It is made of bleached buffalo leather and consists of a flat strap, a braided tassel with loose fringes, and two braided loops.
Two serial numbers are stamped on the inside of the strap: "2776" and "55".
It is in very good condition with the leather still supple. No weaknesses.
