A Curious Porcelain Plate From Paris - Manufactured In Locre - Circa 1800
Artist: Paris - Manufacture De Locre
In the center, within a cartouche imitating a quatrefoil vignette with cut corners, unfolds a polychrome figurative scene depicting a young woman dressed in classical style, draped in a yellow robe and a red cloak. Seated in a wooded landscape, she adopts a meditative pose, her gaze turned towards the sky, in a delicately rendered pastoral setting. The whole is set against a purplish-pink background, worked to imitate a precious stone and enlivened with white veins. The border features a rare deep blue ground, framed by broad gold fillets along the edge and the drop.
