Artist: Frédéric Ii
A beautiful, mint-condition copy in two large octavo volumes, superb contemporary glazed blond calf bindings, smooth spines tooled with fleur-de-lis, ochre morocco titles and volume numbers, covers framed with a double gilt fillet and corner pieces, marbled endpapers and edges: these two volumes comprise three volumes of the "Works of the Philosopher of Sans-Souci." Printed in Berlin by Jean Neaulme, Bookseller, 1760. A vignette appears on the title page of volume 1 and on that of "The Art of War" in volume 2, both contained in the first volume. Beautiful typography on quality paper, stamped with the ink of the Seminary of Nevers. This fine collection of works by Frederick II is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful editions.
