Patinated bronze sculpture by the French artist Mathurin Moreau (1822–1912), depicting “Diane au Bain” — Diana at her bath. The goddess is represented in an intimate and graceful pose, modelled with classical refinement and careful attention to detail.
The work is signed “Math. Moreau” on the base and retains its original plaque inscribed “Diane au Bain – Salon des Beaux-Arts”, referencing the tradition of Parisian academic exhibition.
The composition is completed by the presence of a small companion animal at her feet and is finished in a warm original brown patina.
A decorative and well-balanced example of late 19th-century French bronze sculpture.
Dimensions: Height 86 cm × Width 35 cm × Depth 28 cm.
