"Khorjin Jaff Kurdish. Persian. Circa 1880. 63 X 48 Cm"
A very beautiful satchel (Khorjin) originating from Persia, the work of the Kurdish Jaff people. The front is knotted, the back is woven. Despite some signs of wear due to its age, the impeccable condition of the central section with its star motifs is remarkable. The same is true for the lower section. The pile is intact, and the freshness of the plant-based dyes is almost uncanny. The depth and luminosity are due to ancestral techniques used to fix the dyes within the fibers. It is a true work of art. Woven and knotted wool on wool. The pile is short. In very good overall condition, the main sections are very well preserved on both the front and back. Circa 1880. Dimensions: 63 x 48 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
