After the unification of Italy, an eclectic furnishing style developed in Milan, drawing inspiration from past styles, particularly Gothic and Renaissance. Ferdinando Pogliani's workshop is the best known, where ebony and ivory were widely used in the decoration of furniture, mirrors, and frames. Our frame belongs to this style and was crafted with great care, using thick ebony sheets expertly carved and attached to a pearwood core. Its quality is evident in its weight.
Excellent condition.
