A superb pair of large figurative lamps representing L'Incroyable and La Merveilleuse, elegant figures inspired by the Directoire style, signed by L. Raphaël, late 19th century. The sculptures are in patinated spelter, of fine quality in casting and chasing. Both figures are signed L. Raphaël, signatures engraved on the base, attesting to an original pair. The lamps are completed with green opaline reservoirs painted with floral decoration, chased brass mounts, and glass chimneys stamped "Verre spécial Recur – Made in France" (14 inches). A very large decorative ensemble, with a strong presence, ideal for a mantelpiece, console table, or large piece of furniture. Overall height without glass: 66 cm. Total height with glass: 90 cm.
