School Of Paris "the Tears Of Aphrodite"
School of Paris. Acrylic on canvas mounted on cardboard (prepared board) bears a Bando signature in the lower left corner, first in Japanese characters and then in Latin characters. French School. 54.5 x 46 cm. Painters of the French School adopted acrylic paint from 1947 onwards, but it was especially from 1955, with the advent of water-soluble paint, that they favored this medium. Our painting has not been recognized as being by Bando by the artist's specialist. The quality of the execution of our bouquet of anemones is, however, remarkable. The painter uses a wonderfully varied palette, a vigorous brushstroke, and rich, flat areas of paint that give our anemones all the character of an ancient legend. The prepared board dates from the 1950s-1970s. Patinated wooden frame. Good condition. 890 euros.
