Our painting is a perfect example of the still-life style initiated by the Van Kessel family during the 17th century in Holland, particularly by Jan Van Kessel the Younger (1654-1708), son of Jan Van Kessel the Elder (1626-1679) and great-grandson of Jan Brueghel the Elder (1568-1625). Jan Van Kessel the Younger spent much of his career in Spain, having joined the court of Charles II (1661-1700) in 1679. Modern black lacquered wood frame. Good condition. €3,300.
