Ottoman Empire, Triangular Fabric Embroidered With Gold, 19th Century.
A beautiful triangular garment panel. It has been entirely embroidered in gold with bullion thread and sequins, using a technique that creates a striking contrast. The main motif depicts a crescent moon surrounding a five-pointed star, flowers, and foliage. This embroidery was originally sewn onto green velvet. This embroidery dates from the 19th century. Please note: this fabric is in very good overall condition. The gilding still has a beautiful luster. Please examine the photos carefully.
