Gilt bronze reliquary shrine, Neo-Gothic work from the second half of the 19th century, with fine chasing.
Description:
The architecture evokes a cathedral façade: slender pinnacles, trefoil arches, statuettes in the round, pyramidal pediment, globe surmounted by a Latin cross. The whole rests on a quadrangular base with turned, finely molded feet.
Display Case and Relic: In the center of the display case is a circular medallion with a radiating gilt border containing a visible bone fragment with a perfectly legible old handwritten label: “Ex ossibus BA Gindes” (translation: bone relic of Blessed A. Gindes).
Condition:
Very good overall condition - Homogeneous antique patina - Intact display case. No recent dismantling or handling.
In accordance with canon law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns only the reliquary as a sacred work of art.
The relics it contains are not the subject of the transaction, but are included free of charge for their historical and cultural value.
