In its fresh, raw green vellum (pigskin) binding, quarto format, raised bands on the spine, garnet morocco title, red edges, this important composite collection of documents relating to the trial of Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, from the library of Monsieur Bourlier Lainé, 1750 (beautiful bookplate with coat of arms) and stamped on the first "Mémoire à conseiller" (Memorandum to be consulted) by James Battault du Moulin aux Moines in Auxey-Meursault (Côte-d'Or), this rare and fine set of court documents was one of the triggers of the French Revolution and the entanglements of the nobility, who had nothing to think about but quarrels between equals...
