Real name Ludovico Ariosto, Ariosto is an Italian Renaissance poet. He served Cardinal d'Este and then entered the service of his brother. The "furious Roland" ('Orlando furioso') is a parody of a chivalrous poem. Ariosto gave several versions as the editions progressed. Edition illustrated with full-page engravings by: Novelli, Ferrar, Fanbrini, Malosso, Zaise, engraved by Zuliani, Baratti, Léonardis. Copy large margins on large paper. Magnificent illustrated book from the 18th century. Very good state.
