"Leather Hunting Cartridge Pouch - Patented Sgdg - 19th Century - Napoleon III"
Rigid hunting cartridge pouch (cachet) - Late 19th Century - Napoleon III Era. Thick, patinated leather and brass fittings with two superb cold-stamped escutcheons in the leather, adorned with a coat of arms (crossed rifles beneath a crown) and the inscription "BREVETÉ SGDG" (patented SGDG), attesting to an innovative closure or manufacturing system for the time. The leather is sound, the stitching is well preserved, and the brass closure systems are fully functional. Some signs of wear consistent with its age. Includes its original cartridge slots for 16-gauge cartridges (including empty cartridge bases). Beautiful condition with a magnificent patina.
