Saint Clement Earthenware Holy Water Font
Saint-Clément Faience Holy Water Font - Early 19th Century. This font is characteristic of Saint-Clément, featuring a wide basin attached to the back panel along its entire width, a nipple-shaped basin, molded at the top and bottom, and a smooth central section without vertical fluting. The titulus is tilted towards Christ's left hand, whereas in Lunéville it is tilted towards his right. The original yellow and blue colors are uncommon. See photos in the reference book. The polychrome decoration is in perfect condition. Excellent condition: no cracks, no repairs. Note only one tiny chip and one small chip on the top of the basin; the rest are minor imperfections from the manufacturing process. Height 21.3 cm
