Leather Picnic Case, Travel Accessory, 19th Century, For Wine And Liqueur Bottles

Artist: Condamin & Perroud Malletier
A Laboite leather travel or picnic case, which can be carried by its handle or with a shoulder strap, features three compartments for three bottles. These bottles, containing wine or liqueurs, were used for snacks during excursions or trips. The case is covered externally in gold-stamped leather with netting and internally in embossed paper. Each of the three bottles has a protective fabric sleeve with a drawstring closure (replaced). This mid-19th-century travel accessory was made by Condamin and Perroud, trunk and box makers in Lyon. Dimensions: 30 x 36 x 10.5 cm. Brass clasps and buckles.
