"Boulle Table, 19th Century, Circa 1860"
Boulle Table, 19th century, circa 1860. Almost oval and sinuous in shape, resting on cabriole legs, it is inlaid with tortoiseshell, brass veining and leaves, and bronze fittings. The shape and decoration of this table are reminiscent of French furniture from the reign of Louis XIV, based on designs by the cabinetmaker Charles André Boulle. This inlay technique is called marquetry. Condition: Very good for an original piece, but it should be noted that the marquetry has not been restored, which presents certain advantages and disadvantages. The table is nevertheless perfectly usable. Materials: Mahogany frame, mahogany or pearwood veneer (?), blackened, of very high quality, gilt bronze, gilding in very good condition. Dimensions: Height 71 cm, length 130 cm, width 85 cm. Origin: France, second half of the 19th century, circa 1860. A very high-quality table at a bargain price!
