Ignatius TASCHNER est un artiste né en Allemagne en 1871 et mort en 1913.
Amusing monkey, a cigar cutter by its movable tail, is made from wrought iron, engraved, and securely riveted by its beautiful hands to a circular hammered copper foot bath that also serves as an ashtray.
This sculptor and designer also used other animals, such as a pelican, Marabou, for the same purpose during Art Nouveau period. Unsigned, but well-documented.
Excellent condition, virtually indestructible. 19cm x 11cm x 11cm. Weight: 500g.
