Meerschaum Pipe, "boar" Design, Sulfide Eyes, 19th Century.
A finely carved and openwork meerschaum pipe depicting a boar's head amidst lush vegetation, holding a ribbon knot in its mouth. The eyes are made of sulfide. The mouthpiece is made of amber-colored synthetic material (bakelite?). Late 19th century. Note: This pipe is in good overall condition. There are signs of use inside the bowl (clearly visible in the photos). Stains and wear consistent with age. Please examine the photos carefully.
