Swiss/German Pewter Tureen - 18th Century. Oval pewter tureen with a projecting side, a fan-shaped foot and lid, and a vase-shaped finial. It is decorated with twisted ribs and has two rocaille-style bracket handles. The rim is bossed. It bears three hallmarks, but these are difficult to decipher (see photos). The hallmark depicts an angel holding a sword and scales. In good condition, however, there is a small cut at the junction of the bowl and the foot.
