Louis XIV style pewter ear broth, Louis XV transition.
18th century French work.
The lower part (bowl) bears the hallmark of Joseph Jacques Samain received master in Paris in 1757.
The upper part (cover) bears that of Pierre Gaspard Lamare received Master in Rouen in 1767.
The lid does not fit perfectly on the container, but the two form a very beautiful whole, both in terms of utility and decoration.
