Pair Of Candelabra In Bronze And Sevres Porcelain,france,19century
Large pair of 19th-century French candelabra, in mercury-gilded bronze and Sèvres porcelain. The central section, shaped like a vase, is made of cobalt blue Sèvres porcelain, characteristic of the manufacturer. The sides are decorated with lion figures, with the handle inserted into the mouth, and the central section is decorated with a garland of plant and floral motifs. The upper part of the candelabra consists of a central arm and five curved arms, each carved and decorated with plant motifs, including volutes and scrolls. The arms feature a distinctive “graduated” pattern, wider at the back and slightly smaller at the front. The pedestal of the candelabra is entirely sculpted and decorated with console feet centered with a plant motif.
