The Nativity of the Mother of God, Feasts and Saints.
Large menologion icon, painted on egg tempera on wood panel, under its ceremonial oklad in silver (84 zolotniks), chased, engraved, and heightened with borders of floral and foliate scrolls.
Russian hallmarks on the border: assay master A.K dated 1877, standard 84 zolotniks, and city mark. Engraved on the silver riza in Cyrilics"104 1/2 of zolotnik"

Good overall state of preservation.

This important icon comprises multiple sacred scenes distributed in registers, integrating notably the Savior, Saint Nicholas, the Nativity, the Resurrection, as well as assemblies of saints (synaxes). The silver oklad 84 zolotniks from the second half of the 19th century comes to sublimate the painted work by highlighting the contours of the scenes and the faces of the holy figures.
This composite icon under engraved silver oklad dated 1877 constitutes a remarkable Russian devotional piece, testifying to the richness of iconographic compositions and the quality of goldsmithing from the period of Alexander II.
