A box and lid in chased and gilded bronze with polychrome cloisonné enamels. Orientalist floral decoration on a Japanese-style base of cherry blossom branches. The high quality of the enamels is noteworthy, representative of the prestigious productions of the Barbedienne firm and its workshop head, Constant Sévin. The enamels are in perfect condition, as is the original gilding. Engraved signature under the body of the box: F BARBEDIENNE. Period: circa 1875. Total height (with lid): 10.2 cm. Diameter: 12.3 cm.
