"Directoire Period Clock Circa 1795"
A charming gilt bronze clock, chased and patinated, depicting an allegory of Cupid in his natural pose.
The white enamel dial features Roman numerals for the hours and is signed "A Paris." It is set within a patinated bronze base decorated with stylized butterflies, surrounded by Cupid and a young girl on a Portoro marble entablature, with decorative elements related to love.
A floral vase sits atop the clock.
It rests on four gilt bronze claw feet. In very fine condition, this beautiful clock is in working order.
