Pair Of Paris Porcelain Vases 1st Quarter 19th Century.
Pair of Paris porcelain vases, first quarter of the 19th century (1800-1825). These gilt porcelain vases are approximately 40.5 cm tall and are composed of five distinct sections. They rest on a square black marble base, 10.5 cm on each side and 2.5 cm high. The cylindrical base, green on the lower part, is decorated with friezes of four draped women in the antique style, carved in white biscuit porcelain, and is 12.5 cm high. The bodies, 15.5 cm high, rest on 4 cm feet. They feature lotus flower and leaf motifs at the base. On the wider end, on both sides, is a painted decoration (four different designs for the two vases) of antique landscapes and ruins in the style of Percier and Fontaine. The upper section features a frieze of laurel leaves. The handles are in the form of swans resting on brackets. The flared collars are 6 cm high. The gilding is original, in very good condition.
