JAPAN - Edo Period (1603-1868). KABUTO composed of 22 wrought iron strips, four of which are adorned with conical rivets. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in patinated and gilded copper with three tiers. SHIKORO (neck guard) with four tiers in black lacquered iron (minor damage) and green, orange, and white silk braid. FUKIGAESHI (small fins) in black lacquered iron decorated with a clan mon depicting a cube inscribed in a circle. MABI SA SHI (visor) in wrought iron highlighted with a gilded copper band, the reverse lacquered red (some losses). Dimensions: 28 x 34 x 37 cm. Sold with the base. Dimensions with the base: 47 x 34 x 37 cm.
