Chinese porcelain vase. Fenghuang decoration. Qianlong mark. Republic period, China. The vase is hard-thrown porcelain. Decorated with Fenghuang (phoenixes) surrounded by stylized flowers, glazed in famille rose tones. On the sides are two Buddhist lion masks covered with a beautiful, glossy gilt that contrasts with the matte gilt of the decoration. A discreet incision on the exterior of the neck adds subtle elegance. The base bears the Qianlong mark, painted under the glaze in cobalt blue. 136 x 115 mm
