Pair Of 19th-century Gaucho Spurs – Argentina / Uruguay
Rare and authentic pair of hand-forged iron spurs, attributed to the Río de la Plata region (Argentina or Uruguay), dating from the mid to late 19th century (circa 1840–1880).
These spurs feature large star-shaped rowels with long cylindrical points, a characteristic form associated with South American gaucho horsemanship. The broad U-shaped heel bands and robust construction reflect practical use on the pampas rather than decorative or ceremonial intent. Both arms are engraved with floral scroll motifs, adding a refined artisanal touch while remaining consistent with period working equipment.
