The decoration is one of its most striking aspects: from the upper part descend large carved and gilded pendants, while the lower section is adorned with an intricate frieze of stylised vegetal motifs. The overall effect is highly scenic, characteristic of the more theatrical Venetian production of the 18th century.
The lacquer, in light tones with green-grey nuances, shows old touch-ups and restorations; the gilding remains largely original, with only minor interventions. Some ancient alterations affect the structure, including the probable replacement of the feet, still executed in harmony with the style.
The top is in breccia rose marble, visually well balanced with the piece but likely added later. Overall, the commode retains great character, strong decorative impact and a solid construction.
